Finally, I've got some time to actually sit down and redesign ningzhou.com.  It's been some time since I've had the opportunity to design something for fun and write some code, but it sure does feel good!  This site , as with all my websites, will be a work in progress, let's just hope that I finish before 2007.  Conceptually, my objectives for version 3 is as follows - let's see how I measure up.

Objectives

• Since I don't have much free time, I want to design a site that's easily manageable and maintainable - Duh, who doesn't want a easily manageablle and maintainable site, geez...
• Since I don't have much free time, I don't want to spend too much time on the development of this site. - Sounds like another unfinished project...
• I want to retain certain elements and feel of the previous versions. - Looks like a copy and paste job...
• I want to learn new technologies, so no ASP, .Net, or IIS. - Nothing against Microsoft, but my previous sites were Microsoft technology based...
• I'd like to continue to host my own website, but I need better performance, especially for the photos. using home broadband - CHALLENGE!!

Boy, I'm feeling ambitious today... those seem like pretty tough objectives,... learn something new!?!  C'mon just finish the thing!!!  Okay, either way, my objectives are set, my requirements are vaguely defined in my head...  sounds like I'm ready to execute!!!  Let's see how this goes, you can follow my progress @ ningzhou.com, where else?
